Education

I graduated from Penn State University in 1999 with a degree in Mathematics and a focus in Industrial Engineering. Together, these fields gave me the tools that I need to be organized, analytical, and professional.

Background

For 4 years after graduation, I have been employed at Penn State in the Nutrition Department as a Senior Lab Technician. In this position, I organized nutritional studies for pharmaceutical companies and researchers around the world, studying the effects of iron and other elements on the human body.

This role required me to be extremely organized. I managed grants, budgets, and data taken on human and animal subjects. This was no small task! Add to that managing undergraduate and graduate students and other lab technicians, and you've got yourself one difficult job!

I have since decided that I would enjoy going into business for myself. I know that my organizational skills and ability to complete tasks would be very beneficial to other small businesses. With that, Carrie Hegedus Virtual Assisting was born!
